Overview

Maltese Survival Speaker is a Maltese language phrase app developed by Relocating To Malta. This privacy policy explains how the app handles your data. The short version: we collect very little, we don't sell anything, and we don't share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

What data we collect and why

  • Audio preferences

The app stores your voice preference (Corazon or Dominic) and your saved/favourite phrases locally on your device using your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server.

  • Audio generation

When you tap the audio button on a phrase, the text of that phrase is sent to Narakeet (narakeet.com), a third-party text-to-speech service, to generate spoken audio. Only the Maltese phrase text is transmitted — no personal information is sent. Once generated, audio is cached on your device to minimise repeat API calls. Narakeet's own privacy policy applies to this processing and can be found at narakeet.com.

 

  • Phrase of the Day

The daily phrase is selected algorithmically based on the current date. No personal data is involved in this process.

  • Analytics

We do not use any analytics, tracking pixels, or behavioural monitoring tools in this app. We do not track how you use the app.

 

  • Cookies

This app does not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. Local storage is used solely to remember your in-app preferences as described above.

Payments and purchases

The optional Pro unlock (69 NOK one-time purchase) is processed entirely by Lemon Squeezy or Google Play, depending on which platform you use to make the purchase. Relocating To Malta does not handle, store, or process any payment card information. Either Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy or Google's payment privacy policy applies to all transactions. Your purchase is a one-time payment — there is no subscription and no recurring charge.

    • Your location or IP address

    • Device identifiers

    • Usage behaviour or in-app analytics

    • Any sensitive personal information

Third-party services

  • This app uses the following third-party service:

    • Narakeet (narakeet.com) — for text-to-speech audio generation. Only Maltese phrase text is transmitted. No personal data is shared.

    • All payments are handled by either Lemon Squeezy or Google Play and are subject to the terms and privacy policies of either Lemon Squeezy or Google.

 

Data retention

Your preferences and cached audio are stored locally on your device. You can clear this data at any time by clearing the app's cache in your device settings. We do not store any of your data on our servers.

 

Children's privacy

This app is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children or any other users.

 

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Your Data and Deletion Rights

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data held in connection with this app. To request deletion of your account and any associated data (including your email address, name, and saved favourites), please contact us at the email below. We will action your request within 30 days. You can also delete all your data from inside the app itself.
