The process of moving to Malta can be relatively straight forward for EU citizens but can be more challenging for non-EU nationals and especially so for non-EU unskilled workers.
While many non-EU citizens can enter Malta (for up to 90 days in any 180-day period) without a visa, there are equally as many who require a Schengen visa. You can check to see if you need a visa to enter Malta here.

My name is Mike and I am both a British and Maltese citizen.
Born in the UK and now living in Norway, I acquired Maltese citizenship via descent through my Maltese mother. Having lived in the UK, Malta and Norway, I have much experience when it comes to navigating my way through the procedures of moving within Europe.
EU/EEA citizens have it easier if they want to move to Malta and since Brexit, U.K citizens are now in the same bracket as American, Australian and other non-EU nationals who face more challenges and expense. If eligible, first acquiring dual citizenship from an EU/EEA country will make relocating to Malta much easier. If you are not a Maltese citizen but you have Maltese roots, you may be eligible for Maltese citizenship.
